Pools are hot topic in the Pines
OCEAN PINES -- Given the chance to address their general manager one-on-one, Ocean Pines residents let him know what issues -- ranging from pools to paving -- concerned them.
Many residents voiced questions and complaints on a variety of topics at the recent town hall style meeting hosted by General Manager Bob Thompson. Thompson welcomed all comments.
"We don't know until we hear from you," he told a crowd of close to 125 residents in the community center. "This is feedback."
Resident John Hench opened up the questions with an inquiry -- repeated by some others in the audience -- as to why Thompson wanted to take down the fence that separated the Yacht Club pool from the pool bar.
Thompson responded that removing the fence would free up space so that more people could enjoy evening entertainment at the pool bar. More people at the bar would mean more revenue for the Yacht Club. Although it has not been done yet, he said there were still plans to move the fence at some point.
