2 local yacht clubs join for fun on the island
More than 50 members of the Ladies’ Associations of the Lakewood Yacht Club in Seabrook joined with the Houston Yacht Club in Shore Acres and journeyed down to Galveston recently for some summer fun at the beautiful Galveston Artillery Club.
After warm welcomes by LYC Ladies Association Prez Sue Clements, Veep Jane O’Neal, Secretary Evey Leavens, Trez Elaine Keith and Fleet Capt. Kathy Hall, the crowd of very smartly dressed yachting ladies socialized and shared boating stories before sitting down to a beautifully adorned table with fresh flowers to a delicious lunch.
Just ask Sue Collier, Johnnie Person, former Galvestonian Leona Biering Pleasant, Joy Edwards, Nancy Carrothers, Marsha Taylor and Stephanie Walker how lovely a luncheon it was.
Other Lakewood Ladies spotted in the crowd were Sue Waters, Rubye Garrett, and Kat Lindsay.
Fun was had by all at this Galveston landmark. Pix to come.
